How to Use This Table

Superheated steam has been heated above its saturation temperature at the given pressure. It has no moisture and its temperature can be independently controlled. To use this table, you need both pressure AND temperature — two variables define the state of superheated steam.

The table shows specific volume (v), enthalpy (h), and entropy (s) at various pressure-temperature combinations.

Why superheated steam?

Superheated steam is used for turbines because it has no moisture — moisture in steam erodes turbine blades at high velocity. For process heating, saturated steam is preferred because it transfers heat at constant temperature during condensation.

How CHI can help

Ask CHI about superheated steam properties and to determine whether your application requires superheated or saturated steam. The CHI assistant can look up specific values, explain what each table entry means, and help you cross-reference between different standards and unit systems.
